Norwegian Cruise Line Recognized in Condé Nast Traveler's August Cruise Issue
Posted by: CruiseGuy on Monday, July 21, 2008 - 12:50 PM
cruise-news
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) received top billing in Condé Nast Traveler magazine's special August cruise issue, which hits newsstands today. The top-rated travel magazine recognizes Norwegian Gem as one of the best cruise ships for "spa lovers" and Norwegian Jade as one of the best for "foodies."

"Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Jade are two of our newest Freestyle Cruising ships that offer an unmatched cruise experience and appeal to a wide range of vacationers," said Colin Veitch, NCL's president and CEO. "It is particularly gratifying to be recognized by the editors at Condé Nast Traveler, since this widely read publication is respected the world over as a genuinely independent authority on travel."

Conde Nast Traveler's Consumer News Editor Wendy Perrin opens the special pullout section with a letter to readers highlighting the amenities she and her family enjoyed during their sailing on board Norwegian Gem's seven-day Florida & Bahamas sailing from New York.

She writes that she found the perfect ship for a family holiday because Norwegian Gem had everything she needed including, "&a well-equipped child-care center with age specific programs and plenty of kids for my boys to befriend; sports facilities that would allow me to exhaust the whirling dervishes with minimal effort on my part (large pool, a water slide, basketball court, space for running); a selection of kid-friendly places to eat; and never having to dress up."

Norwegian Gem Best for Spa Goers
Norwegian Gem, NCL's newest Freestyle Cruising ship, was lauded as having one of the best spas at sea. In the Yin & Yang Spa, guests can receive a wide range of exotic and rejuvenating treatments in 18 rooms, plunge into the thalassotherapy pool and relax on heated poolside loungers.

Norwegian Gem is currently sailing seven-day Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona. From November through April, the ship sails seven-day Bahamas & Florida and 10 and 11-day Exotic Southern Caribbean itineraries out of New York.

Norwegian Jade Best for Foodies
Sailing year-round in Europe, Norwegian Jade is touted in the magazine for its 12 restaurants which give guests the opportunity to eat whenever and wherever they want. The ship caters to a wide range of tastes and features Le Bistro, NCL's signature French restaurant; Cagney's Steakhouse; Papa's Italian Kitchen; Paniolo's, offering authentic Tex-Mex; an Asian complex featuring Japanese teppanyaki, a sushi bar and an Asian fusion eatery; a 24-hour diner; and an action station restaurant. With the recent Freestyle 2.0 enhancements, all of Norwegian Jade's restaurants have new, expanded menus and Lobster Galore, where foodies can find lobster in a different restaurant every night of the cruise.

Norwegian Jade homeports in Europe year-round sailing three to 23-day itineraries with ports of call in the Mediterranean, Greek Isles, Africa and Spain.

Carnival to add Jumbo 270 square foot LED screens to ships
Posted by: CruiseGuy on Thursday, July 17, 2008 - 04:37 PM
cruise-news
“Carnival’s Seaside Theatres” -- jumbo-sized LED screens currently featured poolside on five Carnival “Fun Ships,” including the new 113,300-ton Carnival Splendor which debuted earlier this month – will be expanded to an additional five vessels over the next year.

The massive 270-square-foot screens display a variety of programming, including movies, concerts, news, sporting events and the entertaining “Morning Shows” which are hosted by the ships’ respective cruise directors. Additionally, during Carnival’s lively deck parties, music videos, along with live shots of the band and party guests, are displayed.

The first “Seaside Theatre” debuted aboard the 110,000-ton Carnival Liberty in 2005 and the concept proved so popular with guests that the facilities have been incorporated into all of the line’s subsequent new ship projects, including the 130,000-ton Carnival Dream currently under construction and set to debut Sept. 12, 2009.

The 101,000-ton Carnival Destiny and 102,000-ton Carnival Triumph will also be retrofitted with “Seaside Theatres” during scheduled dry docks later this year with the 110,000-ton Carnival Conquest and Carnival Glory set to receive the screens next year. In addition to Carnival Liberty and Carnival Splendor, other ships equipped with Seaside Theatres include Carnival Valor, Carnival Freedom and Carnival Victory.

“The ‘Seaside Theatre’ concept has resonated very positively with guests, providing a fun and interesting outdoor diversion that is enjoyed both during daytime and nighttime hours,” said Ruben Rodriguez, Carnival’s executive vice president of marketing and guest experience. “In addition to popular movies and major sporting events, our shipboard staff has made maximum use of the ‘Seaside Theatres,’ broadcasting custom-designed programming such as the engaging Morning Shows which have been a tremendous hit with guests,” he added.

The 12-foot-high by 22-foot-wide screens utilize the same technology featured in large stadiums and New York’s Times Square and can be seen during both the day and evening hours. In addition to superior picture quality, the state-of-the-art entertainment system includes a 70,000-watt sound system, providing concert quality sound, even outdoors.

Carnival is the world’s largest and most popular cruise line, with 22 “Fun Ships” operating voyages ranging from three to 18 days in length to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, the Panama Canal, Canada, New England, Bermuda, Europe and South America.

The line currently has two 130,000-ton ships on order – the Carnival Dream set to debut September 12, 2009, and the Carnival Magic, scheduled to enter service in June 2011.

cruise-news
Enriching its portfolio of wellness opportunities, Crystal Cruises is introducing onboard acupuncture, along with a menu of Chinese herbs revered for restoring and enhancing health, beauty and longevity. A menu of optional acupuncture treatments, launching this month on Crystal Serenity, focuses on weight loss, pain management, stress reduction, detoxification, smoking cessation, facial rejuvenation and even sea sickness.

"For many, a vacation offers the freedom to try something new," says Thomas Mazloum, senior vice president, hotel operations. "Whether one is just curious or one wants to pursue new treatments, acupuncture complements Crystal's myriad of onboard wellness activities, which have transformed guests into devotees of disciplines like yoga or reflexology or Spinning®."

Acupuncture is a technique of inserting and manipulating fine needles into specific points on the body to ease pain and for other therapeutic purposes. According to the World Health Organization and other reputable entities, acupuncture helps relieve aches and pains; stimulate weight loss; alleviate stress; detoxify the body; smoking cessation; seasickness; and anti-aging.

The Crystal acupuncture program includes:

* · Onboard acupuncturist - Nancy Kerastas, Crystal Serenity's licensed acupuncture physician, has been practicing the art since 2002;

* · Menus of Chinese herbs - Includes remedies that reactivate the body's fat-burning process; stabilize blood sugar metabolism; and relieve swollen or immobile joints; and

* · Shipboard seminars - Three to five classes will be held per cruise, discussing acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and Feng Shui practices and benefits.

Guests receive pre-session consultations to discuss their conditions and medical histories. Cost is $150 for a 60-minute session and can be booked through Crystal's Feng Shui-designed spa.

Crystal also offers complimentary yoga, Pilates and newly introduced "Tour de Spin" cycling classes, and an exclusive Walk on Water® program utilizing weighted vests to increase resistance. The line continues its partnership with the esteemed Cleveland Clinic to feature onboard lectures and seminars with leading medical experts.

In December 2008, and in 2009 both Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity host Mind, Body & Spirit theme cruises, focusing on general wellness through classes and discussions with guest instructors in Tai Chi, yoga, Pilates and general fitness.

Cunard Line Presents the National Symphony Orchestra 2008-2009 Red Series
Posted by: CruiseGuy on Thursday, July 10, 2008 - 03:44 PM
cruise-news
Cunard Line is proud to announce a new partnership with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), an artistic affiliate of Washington, D.C.’s famed Kennedy Center. A highlight of the new alliance is the organization’s upcoming debut aboard Queen Mary 2 as featured guests of the acclaimed Cunard Insights programme. Six Kennedy Center Chamber Players and Nigel Boon, NSO director of artistic planning, will present programmes (including three performances and three lectures) on the ship’s September 8, 2009 Eastbound Transatlantic Crossing. In addition, Cunard is the presenting sponsor of the NSO’s 2008 - 2009 Red Series, a seven-performance classical series spanning from October 2008 to May 2009 featuring the finest artistic programming and guest artists from around the world.

“This new partnership further illustrates Cunard’s commitment to supporting the performing arts,” said Carol Marlow, president of Cunard Line. “Whether it is our sponsorship of cultural institutions such as the National Symphony Orchestra or our own Cunard Insights onboard enrichment programme, our dedication to culture and the arts is reflected in virtually everything we do.”

The National Symphony Orchestra performs approximately 175 concerts each year in Washington and abroad. Highlights of the Red Series include concerts with Iván Fischer, the NSO’s new Principal Conductor, as well as programmes by such luminaries as Itzhak Perlman, Michael Christie, Ilan Volkov and Kurt Masur. The Red Series comprises one-third of the NSO’s 21-week classical subscription season.

The Kennedy Center Chamber Players have earned extraordinary praise from its very first performance in November 2003. The chamber ensemble consists of National Symphony Orchestra principals and performs several times a year, exploring various facets of chamber music repertoire. The core ensemble consists of six principal players: violinist Nurit Bar-Josef, violinist Marissa Regni, violist Daniel Foster, cellist David Hardy, pianist Lambert Orkis and clarinetist Loren Kitt.

In addition, Nigel Boon, the NSO’s director of artistic planning, will be on hand to present a series of lectures reflective of his 30 years of personal experience in classical music. A master of languages and linguistics, Boon’s expertise spans music publishing, advertising, promotion, product management and production. Most recently, he served as executive producer for conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner’s new CD label “Soli Deo Gloria.” He joined the NSO in February 2007.

Throughout its 77-year history, the NSO has been committed to both artistic excellence and music education. In 1986, it became the artistic affiliate of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the nation’s center for the performing arts, where it has presented a concert season annually since the Center opened in 1971. The Orchestra itself numbers 100 musicians, presenting a 52-week season of approximately 175 concerts each year. These include classical subscription series, pops concerts, and one of the country’s most extensive educational programs.

Cunard has long been synonymous with onboard enrichment. Delving deeply into a variety of compelling and relevant topics, Cunard Insights introduces guests to stimulating experts and accomplished visionaries who reflect the line's heritage of adventure and prestige. Through a series of lectures, Q&A's, debates, social gatherings, and workshops, guests connect with personalities who have achieved notable distinction in areas including history, world affairs, science, politics, arts and literature. Recently named “Best Onboard Educational Programme” by Porthole Magazine, the Insights programme underscores Cunard’s longstanding view that onboard entertainment should afford guests a provocative and rewarding cerebral experience.

Crystal Cruises Voted “World's Best” Of Any Cruise Ships, Large And Small, By Travel + Leisure Readers
Posted by: CruiseGuy on Thursday, July 10, 2008 - 03:39 PM
cruise-news
With its highest score in five years, Crystal Cruises has been voted the "World's Best Large-Ship Cruise Line" by the readers of Travel + Leisure magazine for a 13th consecutive year. The ultra-luxury Crystal Cruises is the only cruise line, resort or hotel to have won the prestigious award each year since the awards' inception. Crystal's 2008 World's Best score of 90.67 marks the highest score of any cruise line - large and small. This score ranks Crystal with the survey's most highly noted hotel in the world.

Based on a first quarter 2008 survey of thousands of world travelers, the World's Best Awards are featured in the magazine's August 2008 issue. Subscribers, who were allowed only one vote each, were asked to rate cruise lines on cabins, food, service, itineraries/destinations, activities and value.

"We are extremely honored and gratified that the authentic warmth of Crystal's extraordinary staff, our seamless luxury and unparalleled attention to detail make for such a treasured experience for so many discerning Travel + Leisure readers," says Crystal Cruises' President Gregg Michel. "This is a tremendous validation of the continual investments we make in our ships, the meaningful personalized programs we've introduced, and Crystal's winning formula of superior service, choices, space and quality."

Crystal Cruises' luxurious, award-winning fleet consists of the 940-guest, 50,000-ton Crystal Symphony and 1,080-guest, 68,000-ton Crystal Serenity, which cruise worldwide on itineraries of seven to 106 days. In November, the line is upping its luxury quotient as several staterooms are eliminated to make way for more posh Penthouses. Within the past two years, the luxury line completed a stylish and sophisticated redesign of Crystal Symphony and expanded the opportunities to personalize one's experiences ashore with "extreme luxury" shore experiences, an increased collection of boutique Crystal Adventures® and thoroughly customized Crystal Private Adventures throughout the world.

Based on the success of restaurants featured on Crystal Serenity, Crystal also tapped famed master chef Nobu Matsuhisa to launch his cuisine in transformed specialty restaurants aboard Crystal Symphony. Silk Road and The Sushi Bar were completed in the spring, subsequent to travelers' completion of the survey. Ultimate wine experiences showcasing rare vintages were introduced in late 2007 and additional culinary refinements are being rolled out in 2008. Fitness, wellness and cultural enrichment continue to be a major focus.

Michel adds, "In this challenging, competitive travel environment, this rating means a lot to today's travelers. When they part with their hard-earned vacation dollars, they want the assurance that they're getting the best."

Celebrity Solstice to show off 86-cut diamond
Posted by: CruiseGuy on Wednesday, July 09, 2008 - 06:33 PM
cruise-news
This year's most eagerly-awaited cruise ship – Celebrity Solstice – just added another first to its series of exceptional offerings: a 10-sided diamond cut for the first time, and available exclusively on Celebrity Solstice. Aptly named the Solstice Diamond, the patented gem's 86 facets create a visible, distinguishing star pattern even more sparkling than the familiar 58-facet brilliant-cut diamond.

Sourced from conflict-free stones mined in Canada, the Solstice Diamond was created by UK-based Harding Brothers, who will manage the retail shops onboard. Mounted in hand-created settings and in varying sizes for rings, pendants and earrings, no two pieces will be alike.

The diamonds will be available in Celebrity Solstice's luxurious "Boutique C," one of 18 shops spanning three decks and 6,500 square feet onboard the ship.

"Celebrity Solstice's boutique areas have been designed to reflect the stylish and authentic ambience our guests will find throughout the ship," said Celebrity's Vice President of Hotel Operations Lisa Lutoff-Perlo. "Each shop will have its own distinct look, feel and, in some cases, even aroma. It will be a phenomenal collection of sights, sounds, styles and scents." In addition to the high-end Boutique C, Celebrity Solstice's retail venues include:

The Lawn Club Shop
The refreshing aroma of freshly-cut grass will welcome guests in Celebrity Solstice's Lawn Club Shop, with golf-oriented merchandise, wine-related items, and a casual, contemporary resort line designed by Bobby Chan, whose apparel highlights pro shops and lifestyle specialty stores around the world. The shop also will feature a "grass"-soled flip-flop sold exclusively on Celebrity Solstice.

The Showcase
Sparkling glass works from around the world will be the focus of The Showcase, where guests can purchase creations such as those found at The Corning Museum of Glass, whose alliance with Celebrity led to the industry's first Hot Glass Show and Studio on Celebrity Solstice. Among the brands "showcased" are Mats Jonasson, Kosta Boda and Steuben. The Showcase also will feature limited edition and retired pieces sold exclusively on Celebrity Solstice.

The Solstice Shop
Celebrity Solstice's signature store, The Solstice Shop, will offer a variety of fashion-forward, private-label apparel, accessories and souvenirs, all tastefully marked with the ship or brand logo.

Exquisites
The largest jewelry boutique onboard, Exquisites will present a vast array of necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets from new designers, as well as recognized, world-class brands such as Bellarri and H. Stern. The boutique also will present canary, pink and blue diamonds, as well as Tanzanite creations.

The Artisan Store
Guests interested in one-of-a-kind jewelry and artifacts will find it hard to bypass The Artisan Store, where they can observe and interact with resident artists as they string pearls, carve cameos, and mount gemstones to suit each shopper’s interests and preferences. The venue also will present special enrichment lectures and demonstrations.

Pieces of Time
The timeless elegance of fine watches will be evident in the product line found in Pieces of Time, with featured brands including Dior, Gucci, H. Stern and Tag Hauer.

The Collection
Style is in the bag at The Collection, where guests will find classic and contemporary purses of all styles, sizes, colors and textures, as well as belts, scarves, and other accessories.

The Men's Store
True to its name, The Men's Store will feature casual yet sophisticated apparel for men from Newport Blue and Saltaire, as well as Celebrity's exclusive Blue Collection, among other brands.

Moda
Chic women's fashions ranging from everyday, active wear to cocktail apparel will highlight Moda, with selections from leading designers such as Joseph Ribkoff, Celebrity's exclusive Blue Collection, and a number of variations on the classic "little black dress."

Jasmine
Celebrity Solstice's Jasmine will focus on perfumes, cosmeceuticals and other skin care products. The venue also will offer personalized cosmetics consultations, and interactive workshops focused on color.

Adagio
The ambience of indulgence and tranquility found in Adagio will be reflected in its products, ranging from self-tanning products to scrubs, rubs and body butters. The venue also will present many of the world's most popular fragrances, along with new launches.

Serendipity
Shoppers in Serendipity will have the good fortune of finding an eclectic mix of merchandise that is constantly evolving, reflecting the unique character of each destination on the ship's itinerary. The selections will range from ethnic foods to apparel to accessories.

The Sundialer
Fashionable watches and sunglasses are always timely, and will be the focus of The Sundialer, with hip selections from a variety of designers, within a fun, relaxed environment.

Glitz
Trendy costume jewelry from established international brands as well as up-and-coming designers will be the focus of Glitz, with selections made of acrylic, crystal, gold and/or silver.

NCL Stars in TLC's "What Not To Wear" Cruise Special
Posted by: CruiseGuy on Wednesday, July 02, 2008 - 01:27 PM
cruise-news
NCL's new "It" Girl Norwegian Gem stars in the first ever cruise episode of TLC's hit show "What Not to Wear," a style makeover show that is one of the network's top-rated programs. During the filming that took place in April 2008, "What Not to Wear" style guru Stacy London surprised Trenton, New Jersey resident Robin Kearns during the seven-day Bahamas & Florida sailing and by the end of the cruise had transformed her into a glamorous woman. The one-hour cruise special airs on TLC Friday, July 11, 2008 at 9 p.m. EST and will be shown again on Saturday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m. EST.

"NCL's new 'It' Girl Norwegian Gem is the perfect setting for such a popular fashion makeover show as TLC's 'What Not to Wear,'" said Colin Veitch, NCL's president and CEO. "With the relaxed atmosphere of Freestyle Cruising, our guests don't have to worry about a strict dress code while on a cruise vacation; instead NCL guests can wear what they want when they want, which viewers will see during this special cruise episode of 'What Not to Wear.'"

Kearns, 42, a data manager and single mother to son Shane, 15, was nominated to be featured in the show by her cousin Heather Kearns-Latini of Trenton, NJ and her best friend Kimberly Bomberry-Smith of Trenton, NJ. Both accompanied her on the cruise. Kearns boarded Norwegian Gem without any knowledge of being featured on the show. On embarkation day, she was enjoying time with her cousin and best friend in the ship's atrium when a video began playing on the two-story screen which revealed Kearns' fashion blunders. A stunned Kearns was then ambushed in the atrium by cameras from "What Not to Wear" as host Stacy London, flanked by Norwegian Gem's officers, strolled down the grand staircase to greet Kearns with a $5,000 gift card and an offer to be made over from head-to-toe.

"What I thought was just going to be a vacation ended up being a life changing experience for me," said Robin Kearns. "'What Not to Wear' helped me to bring out my inner diva and gave me that extra dose of confidence I needed."

During the cruise, the "What Not to Wear" team followed Kearns' transformation. While visiting Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida and Nassau, Bahamas, Kearns went shopping using style guru London's famous wardrobe "rules." When back on the ship, Kearns completed her make over in the ship's spa with special help from make-up artist Carmindy Acosta and hairstylist Nick Arrojo.

The big reveal happened on the last day of the cruise in the Stardust Theater amongst a crowd of guests who cheered on Kearns as she went from drab to fab. To complete her experience, she then revealed her look to the rest of the ship at dinner that evening in NCL's signature Le Bistro restaurant with Norwegian Gem's captain, her cousin, best friend and London.

In addition to the atrium, spa and theater, the show also features Norwegian Gem's Bliss Ultra Lounge with its four lane bowling, Courtyard Villa sun deck, Spinnaker Lounge, Bar Central, Star Bar, pool deck and some of the ships 13 restaurants

cruise-news
The new 130,000-ton Carnival Dream – the largest “Fun Ship” ever constructed, offering a host of on-board innovations and amenities – is slated to debut September 21, 2009, operating a diverse inaugural schedule that features visits to magnificent European and Caribbean destinations.

Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, the 3,646-passenger SuperLiner will be a new class of vessel for the line and usher in a new era of “Fun Ship” cruising. With a new layout, sleek hull and distinctive profile, Carnival Dream is designed as the ultimate vacation experience.

Unique features of the Carnival Dream include a new concept in entertainment called The Piazza, a stunning indoor/outdoor café and live music venue; the most elaborate children’s facilities at sea, including expansive play areas and a huge Carnival WaterWorks aqua park; “scenic whirlpools” that extend over the ship’s beam; and a variety of new stateroom categories, including those specifically catering to families. Carnival Dream will also offer many other exciting and innovative features that will be announced in the coming months.

“We’ve taken everything we’ve learned about shipbuilding and incorporated it into the magnificent Carnival Dream. By offering the widest variety of all-inclusive facilities and features at sea, we will create fun, memorable vacations for our guests, all at an incredible value,” said Gerry Cahill, Carnival president and CEO. “From a bold new entertainment concept called The Piazza to innovative new larger stateroom categories and the most elaborate children’s facilities ever featured on any Carnival ‘Fun Ship’ – all of which are included in the initial cruise fare and accessible to everyone on board. – Carnival Dream was specifically designed with our valued guests in mind,” he added.

Exciting Inaugural Schedule
Carnival Dream is scheduled to enter service September 21, 2009, with an inaugural 12-day Grand Mediterranean cruise from Rome (Civitavecchia) featuring seven spectacular ports: Naples, Livorno and Venice (two-day call), Italy; Dubrovnik, Croatia; Messina, Sicily; Monaco; and Barcelona, Spain. Two additional 12-day Grand Mediterranean cruises will be offered on October 3 and October 15, 2009.

The ship will then sail on a 16-day trans-Atlantic crossing departing Rome (Civitavecchia) Oct. 27 and arriving New York Nov. 12, 2009. Featured ports include Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, and Malaga, Spain; Las Palmas, Canary Islands; and King’s Wharf, Bermuda (overnight call).
From New York, Carnival Dream will operate two eight-day Bahamas/Florida cruises departing Nov. 15 and 23, 2009. These voyages include a call at Port Canaveral (in proximity to Orlando-area attractions), followed by a visit to Nassau and Freeport in The Bahamas.

Year-Round Cruising From Port Canaveral
Following its New York departures, Carnival Dream will reposition to Port Canaveral, Fla., where it will launch year-round seven-day Caribbean cruises Dec. 5, 2009. On its new Port Canaveral-based program, Carnival Dream will depart every Saturday on alternating weeklong cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Eastern Caribbean cruises will call at Nassau; St. Thomas/St. John, U.S.V.I.; and St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles; while exotic Western Caribbean voyages will visit Cozumel; Belize; Costa Maya; and Nassau. Carnival Dream will assume this route from the Carnival Glory, which will be redeployed to Miami to operate year-round seven-day Caribbean cruises beginning October 3, 2009.

Unique Features and Facilities
With a basis-two capacity of 3,646 passengers and spanning 1,004 feet in length, Carnival Dream is the largest and longest “Fun Ship” ever constructed and the line has made maximum use of the vessel’s added size by creating some truly spectacular on-board facilities and features.
Among the ship’s many highlights is a brand new concept in entertainment – The Piazza. Designed as a comfortable oasis during the day and a bustling entertainment complex at night, this breathtaking indoor/outdoor café and live music venue will feature a bandstand where a variety of musical genres will be showcased, along with a large circular dance floor. A massive floor-to-ceiling curved glass wall will separate the room, creating comfortable and spacious indoor and outdoor seating areas offering stunning ocean views. Guests at The Piazza can also enjoy full bar service, along with an espresso bar offering gelato and a variety of decadent baked goods, along with high-speed Internet access.

Carnival Dream will also take the traditional cruise-ship promenade to new heights with a half-mile, open-air promenade encircling the ship on Promenade Deck 5. Here, guests can take a stroll while enjoying spectacular ocean vistas, read a book, or just take in the sun from one of the many deck chairs that will line this unique open deck area.

Along the expansive promenade, four “scenic whirlpools” cantilever out over the sea providing magnificent sea views. Higher up, Lido Deck 10 will offer the most elaborate and expansive open-deck area of any Carnival ship with a tropical, resort-style main pool complete with a Seaside Theatre LED screen, a Serenity adults-only retreat, and numerous other features.
A wide variety of lounges, bars and nightspots – including a new dance club concept offering indoor/outdoor access – will be accessible via an 11-deck-high atrium whose ground level will offer a cantilevered bandstand atop a massive dance floor. Other features include an expansive 23,750-square-foot Cloud 9 Spa – Carnival’s largest and most elaborate health and wellness center to date.

Innovative New Staterooms
Particular attention was paid to Carnival Dream’s accommodations, as several innovative new types of staterooms will be introduced. The line’s first-ever “cove” balcony staterooms – located closer to the water line – offer beautiful sea views and exceptional value.

New deluxe ocean view staterooms – featuring a unique, guest-friendly configuration with two bathrooms – will pro
