Marella Cruises has announced that the Marella Discovery 2 will transition to an adults-only vessel beginning in winter 2027. The line plans to remove existing children's facilities to make room for new amenities tailored to guests aged 16 and older, including a speakeasy, a karaoke room, an escape room, and an arts and crafts studio. This change will make the ship the second in the Marella fleet to be dedicated exclusively to adults, following the Marella Explorer 2. The vessel, which originally debuted as Royal Caribbean's Legend of the Seas in 1995, currently accommodates nearly 1,800 passengers. As cruise lines increasingly segment their fleets to cater to specific demographics, this shift highlights the growing demand for child-free vacation environments.
