A murder suspect from Atlanta was apprehended at Port Canaveral on July 17 while attempting to board the Carnival Glory for a cruise to the Bahamas. Martell Murray, who faced an active warrant for failing to appear in court regarding a 2020 murder investigation, was taken into custody alongside his traveling companion. The arrest occurred during a broader enforcement operation at the terminal that resulted in six individuals being detained for outstanding warrants. Both individuals were subsequently booked into the Brevard County Jail. Such security sweeps at major cruise terminals highlight the increasing focus on passenger background checks before boarding.
