Please note that some of these tips for Explorer of the Seas may apply to other Royal Caribbean cruise ships as well.
Since the ship does not have Wi-Fi in the cabins, if that is a semi-important feature, you can try to get a cabin near midship deck 8 (the location of the Internet Cafe) and get wireless signal inside your room.
Staterooms in the aft of the ship is a good idea to get quicker access to the dining rooms/Windjammer buffet; cabins in the forward area are closer to the theater and the gym, though those venues are likely not as often used vs the dining areas by a typical cruiser.
Don't miss the sail-away parade at the Royal Promenade!
-Same goes for the Ice Skating show- get there at least 30 minutes early.
Arrive early and board early (unless it is your first Royal Caribbean cruise) to avoid the buffet restaurant chaos.
You can view your ship-board account balance right on your TV; no need to visit the front desk for this purpose.
Ask for a second helping of the same dinner entree (even broiled lobster tail), or a different one if you are so inclined. Feel free to order multiple appetizers as well.
-If you need to make a show, you can ask your waiter to bring out your food faster, and the request will be accommodated.
-The Belly Flop contest is usually good for some nice laughs.
Get a freebie such as a leather folio when you purchase certain photo packages towards the end of the cruise.
During disembarkation morning, find a seat, get some coffee, croissant and relax at the Promenade Cafe until about 9:15 AM (when the staff will come and shoo you away).
