Carnival Cruise Line Internet Pricing

One cool feature about Carnival Cruise Ships' Internet Access is that they let you access a few sites for free (Carnival.com, the CEO's blog, etc), including news and sports scores. Unfortunately, the sports scores results are not exactly up-to-date.

The sign-up for their Internet screen is different from other cruise lines who usually require entering the cabin #, first and last name, and a password. With Carnival, you would enter in a "Folio Number" (a code at the back of the cruise key card), then your date of birth, and press the green connect button.

The costs for the Satellite Internet Plans are as follows (from a Carnival Breeze 2014 Cruise):

Minutes | Price | Cost per Minute ------|------|------ 480 | $159 | $0.33/min 240 | $89 | $0.37/min 120 | $59 | $0.49/min 45 | $29 | $0.64/min

The Pay as You go option is 75 cents a minute. The prices are pretty much in line with other companies. The nice thing is that there is no "setup" fee of $2.99 which some other cruise lines will tack on to your bill. Speed-wise, aboard the Breeze, it seemed to be faster than NCL's newest ship, the Norwegian Getaway.
