Oasis of the Seas Secret Areas: Quiet with Great Views

ReviewCruises.net Forum » Cruise Tips

The Oasis of the Seas, being such a beast of a cruise ship, can be quite crowded especially when sailing at its full capacity of 5400+ passengers. On many ships, there are actually "secret" sanctuaries where you can just escape some of the noise, and still have amazing views unobstructed by tall glass panels. Public, but yet with a sense of privacy. The Solarium is a wonderful place to hang out, but sometimes the best "seats" are taken, and of course it can be difficult to have a clear from there view without any transparent windows in front of you, no matter how clean.

There were two such places aboard the Oasis, one was on Deck 14 Forward, and the other on Deck 14 aft. The reach the first one, you must:

  1. Go on the PORT (left) side of the hallway, past the Adventure Ocean kid's club, all the way down to the front of the ship. It may look like a dead line, but isn't.

  2. Once you reach the very end, there will be a glass door on the left.

  3. Press large white square button to open the door, and you are there.

Once there, you will realize some pretty sensational 180 degree views of what is in front of the boat- there are even high-powered binocular stations to zoom in on an island, another ship, etc. There are lounge chairs, though not nearly as many of course as the Solarium (which is a deck directly above), but most were empty.

This is certainly a great place to be too when you want to enjoy watching the Oasis coming into port (or leaving one). The helicopter landing pad can be seen from here as well.

Check out this video we posted for how to reach there via the Deck 14 FWD elevators, plus see what the place looks like in more detail.

The other secret location is at the back of the same deck. This place is much smaller and is reached also via the Port side of the ship.

Go all the way to the end to the back of the Oasis, traversing on the cabin hallway, and there is a glass door- see below.

Open the door, go to the left and you are there. There are several lounge chairs, and you have wonderful views from the back of the ship here.

Look right below to the left and you will see a breathtaking view of the AquaTheater.

We hope that you will take advantage of these public, open but yet obscure areas of the ship to make your vacation aboard the Oasis even more enjoyable.
