Puerta Maya is a sprawling shopping port where many cruise ships dock, including the Carnival Breeze on her 6 Day Western Caribbean Cruise (see review). If you are looking for some beach time, there isn't any unfortunately within walking distance. Taxi rates were pretty reasonable- $9 to Money Bar, and $14 to the acclaimed Paradise Beach. The state park & beach Chankanaab is $11 one way.
